Aaron Judge Surpasses Joe DiMaggio with 362nd Career Home Run, Moves to Fourth on Yankees’ All-Time List

New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge etched his name deeper into franchise history on Friday night, hitting the 362nd home run of his career to surpass the legendary Joe DiMaggio. The milestone places Judge fourth on the Yankees’ all-time home run list, further cementing his status as one of the most dominant power hitters of his generation.

The historic blast came just one day after Judge tied DiMaggio with two home runs on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks, a game in which he also drew comparisons to former President Donald Trump, who attended the commemoration. On Friday, Judge wasted little time leaving his mark against the rival Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.

In the very first inning, on just the second pitch he saw from Boston starter Lucas Giolito, Judge launched a towering shot over the iconic Green Monster. The ball traveled an estimated 468 feet before landing on Lansdowne Street, giving the Yankees a 1-0 lead. His teammates roared from the dugout as the Fenway crowd watched yet another Judge moment unfold in a rivalry that has produced countless historic performances.

Judge’s home run helped set the tone for the night, as the Yankees went on to defeat the Red Sox 4-1. With the win, New York extended its lead over Boston to one and a half games in the American League East standings. Both clubs remain in a tight battle for a Wild Card spot, while the Toronto Blue Jays currently sit atop the division. The chase for October baseball promises to be intense, with only one team guaranteed the advantage of hosting the opening round.

Despite his place among Yankee greats, Judge was quick to downplay any notion of chasing DiMaggio’s most famous record: the 56-game hitting streak set in 1941, still the longest in Major League history.

Smiling as he addressed reporters after the game, Judge said, “Yeah, I don’t think I’ll ever get close to that one. We can try, but that record has always felt untouchable.”

The comments highlighted Judge’s humility, even as he continues to build a résumé that has drawn comparisons to some of the franchise’s most iconic players, including Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Mickey Mantle, and now DiMaggio himself.

At just 32 years old, Judge still has ample time to climb higher on the Yankees’ leaderboard. Next up on the list is Alex Rodriguez, who hit 351 of his 696 career home runs with the Yankees. If Judge stays healthy, surpassing Rodriguez could become a reality within the next two seasons.

For now, Yankees fans are savoring every swing from their captain as he drives the team toward another postseason run. With his latest milestone, Judge has not only honored the legacy of Joe DiMaggio but has also written a new chapter in the storied rivalry between the Yankees and Red Sox.
