Dodgers Win Thriller Against Yankees in MVP Showcase

The game featured a historic first inning, with reigning MVPs Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani each hitting home runs—Judge's 446-foot blast off Tony Gonsolin and Ohtani's 417-foot shot off Max Fried.  This marked the first time in MLB history that both reigning MVPs homered in the first inning of the same game.

Despite early home runs from Yankees' Austin Wells, Trent Grisham, and Paul Goldschmidt, the Dodgers rallied with a four-run sixth inning, ultimately securing an 8-5 victory.

Notably, Dodgers' star Mookie Betts missed the game due to a toe injury sustained at home.  Manager Dave Roberts indicated that Betts is day-to-day and undergoing evaluations.

The series continues on May 31, 2025, with both teams looking to assert dominance in this classic rivalry.
